Was it the Marco Polo who introduced pasta to Italy?

The most popular belief is that Chinese invented pasta and Croatian adventurer Marco Polo introduced it to Italy in 1295 AD. This is a very romantic myth but very unlikely the truth. It is enough to read what is written in “Il Milione”, the book in which our friend Marco relates his voyage in Far East, to be convinced of the contrary: he writes he saw and tested “lasagne similar to those that we prepare with wheat flour”
